Mini Fingerprint Heart Canvases
What you’ll need:
- Mini canvases
- Acrylic paint
- Paint palette
- Water jug
- Fill a paint palette with some different coloured paints.
- Allow children to place their fingers into the paint, before transferring onto the canvas. The aim will be to create the shape of a heart.
- Encourage children to experiment with different colours and techniques.
Toilet Roll Lovebugs
What you’ll need:
- Toilet roll tubes
- Cardboard
- A pen
- A sharpie marker
- Acrylic paint
- Paint palette
- Paint brushes
- Water jug
- scissors
- Tape
- Choose a colour and paint the toilet roll tube. Allow this to dry.
- Take a piece of cardboard and draw a ‘bone’ shape, as well as a ‘y’ shape with two ends (as shown below). Cut out and paint bright colours, leave to dry.
- Once the toilet roll tube is dry, choose a bright colour and add a pattern of polka dots or random shapes.
- Using white paint, draw two eyes and leave to dry.
- Cut the shapes in half, giving you two antennas and two feet per lovebug. Use tape to fix these to the top and bottom.
- Use a sharpie to fill in the eyes and a face for your lovebugs.
Wool Hanging Hearts
What you’ll need:
- Cardboard
- Wool
- A pen
- Scissors
- Draw a heart into a piece of cardboard and cut it out.
- Wrap some wool around the shape and tie a knot to secure.
- Continue to wrap wool around the heart, covering all visible cardboard.
- Once done, cut the thread giving approximately 10 cm of length, and thread the end through the top of your heart.
- Tie a knot to create a hanging loop for the heart.
